The international conference for the salt industry

26–27 March 2019 The Marriott Hotel, Amsterdam

Salt 2019

Join Nouryon Salt, Cargill, Solvay, Komatsu and  a host of other companies in the international salt supply chain for the Salt 2019 conference in Amsterdam to hear about the latest industry developments and network with peers from across Europe and the rest of the world.

Salt 2019 will explore significant European market developments including:

  • The loss of 1Mtpy of European demand due to the closure of the last mercury process chlorine capacity in EU
  • The success of pharmaceutical grade salt in Europe, leading to capacity increases in Denmark (Nouryon 2017) and Germany (Ciech 2020)
  • The current low level of de-icing salt stocks. While on one hand the re-stocking sales volumes are expected to be higher, on the other the EU is mulling a legislation to introduce specifications for de-icing salt
  • The outlook on Northern African producers and trading routes into Europe
  • Freight rates and dry bulk cargo outlook, with focus on the Northern European ports

In addition, the Roskill flagship Salt 2019 conference focuses on issues beyond the European borders, including a spotlight on the Northern American trade balance, an outlook on the Middle Eastern capacity-expansion projects, increased production of soda in Turkey and an update on growing Chinese demand and the Indian and Pacific Ocean trade that derives from it.

The event will offer participants from the salt industry many opportunities for networking and business. If your business is salt, you should take advantage of this opportunity to network with our targeted audience.
