With Asia the world’s largest net importer of salt, Roskill returns to Hong Kong this November to host the Salt Asia 2019 conference and explore the market dynamics of this key region for salt producers and consumers.
The conference will take place on November 26–27th at the 5-star Harbour Grand Kowloon Hotel, a hotel known for its stunning location on the Kowloon waterfront in Hong Kong.
China, which is the world’s largest salt producer but also imported more than 10Mt of it last year, will be a key focus of Salt Asia 2019 but the conference will also focus on developments in India, Indonesia, Australia and other key countries across Asia and into the Middle East.
Roskill research shows that in 2018 estimated global salt exports hit a new record of 71.47Mt compared to 64.51Mt the previous year and Asia already accounts for more than half of global demand for salt, with the Chinese chloralkali industry the key driver of this growth. The downstream markets for salt—particularly chloralkali, will be covered extensively in Salt Asia 2019.
Drawing extensively on high profile speakers from China, India and elsewhere in Asia, the conference is your opportunity to hear first-hand what developments are planned and where the opportunities for business in Asia lie.
Salt Asia will be chaired by Kerry Satterthwaite, division manager of Roskill. New for this year will be a focus on solar production, key papers on process economics in a technology session, and details of exciting new developments in the Australian salt industry.
The event will offer participants from the salt industry many opportunities for networking and business. If your business is salt, you should take advantage of this opportunity to network with our targeted audience.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available. By sponsoring the event you will be able to raise your profile and visibility within the international salt industry. Whether as a speaker, delegate, table top exhibitor or sponsor, we are sure that you will find Salt Asia 2019 to be a worthwhile and enjoyable event. We look forward to meeting you in Hong Kong!
